The last two home Blazers game I went to, I went back to my seats thinking I left something. Maybe gloves or my binoculars. I had all my stuff. I think I was missing Dame. I'm happy for the trade for him, and not specifically upset, just always feel like I might have dropped my wallet when I'm at the Moda Center. It also makes the games seem chaotic because there is no focal point to view them from.
This is excellent. Especially love "You shouldn’t have to ask that hard and that often, of anyone you’re closest to, where it is they stand when you’re right there next to them."

This is a beautifully apt way to pinpoint that feeling of loss. A perennial version of that sensation that you forgot to pack something.

I find every trip to L.A. so generative for writing, probably due to backdrop and plenty of sun. But I'm very glad it rang true to an Angeleno abroad.
