Thank you Katie for this article. It fosters hope through reading how people are harnessing their energy to support those harmed by the fires.

The magnitude of loss is hard to deal with. We can feel it all the way out here in Ohio.

Pro Publica did an amazing piece earlier this year on how Fire Response teams are in triage. Underfunded, under supported, underpaid, undermanned. It's a incredibly chilling article that needs attention.

I hope this devastation can be a wake up call to partisan politics, and the ramifications it brings.

We need a third party that prioritizes term limits m, complete overhaul of the political contribution system, prioritizes environmental concerns and working class issues, and LA's denizens have the clout and money to make it happen.

I understand I am looking forward in a moment where this is far from over. Don't mistake my post with callousness. People need some external motivation to rally behind. A purpose past survival.

I wish with all my being the fires, and the loss they bring, would just...stop.

I understand you completely, and "a purpose past survival" is a succinct way to put it. Also a rallying goal, I think.
